Amaro is the son of a spanish merchant and a slave he met during a trade. His mother tragically died during his birth and his father took him to create him.
he spent all his life in Spain, but always dreamed about leaving. Besides not really liking how things work around in Europe, and wanting to feel free. He always question the way that currency works, and why they needed to pay taxes to a king when they are the one doing all the stuff. He was always in trouble for that reason, and also stealing some of the shops and some of the king's stuff.
Not just that, his father was someone who was so strict with him, and made him do all the tasks of a merchant, normally getting druunk and forcing him to sell the thing he was supposed to sell.
He wanted to get a opportunity to flee as quick as possible, and one day, that opportunity came.
One day, which seemed like any other to Amaro. He was helping his father's business trying to sell some dark red fabric when he heard some screams coming from the shore. He went to check while still holding a box of the fabric and his father go with him to check what it was. One of the king's ships were being robbed by one of the world's greatest pirates, Lady Bonny. She was one of the crew members of Anne Bonny, and one of the only survivors. She went and got the Bonny name legacy going and for some time, was believed to be Anne ressurrected, but was discovered to be other person.
Amaro knew about the pirates and was looking at the best way to be part of the crew. and this is his best chance to go. He couldn't lose it. His father tried to grab him and make him stay, but he is tired of him and the place they live. He wants this more than anything. He hasn't be allowed to be free for his whole life, he is tired of being ordered around by rich people who made his life worse and his dad, that drunken fool.
He wrapped a piece of the red fabric on his head and other on his hips. to try and blend in the ship.
He arrived at the ship being stolen and picked up a sword from a dead body and fought off some of the king's guards and entered the main ship, where Lady Bonny was without being noticed, but he didn't know that she only kept the people she knew at her main ship, so he was spotted pretty easily by Lady's righthand man, Kuro. He tried to hide himself between the oil barrels that they sell, but Kuro was checking the product and found him on the middle of the barrels.
Kuro picked him and tied him and alerted Lady about his invasion of the boat.
Lady asked what was he doing there, and Amaro explained what he did to get there.
Lady was impressed by his determination and lack of self preservation, and lets him on the ship. Kuro advices Lady that it might be a bad idea, but she says that he reminds her of herself when she started out as a scout. That spirit is a thing she reallly misses to have around.
Amaro was happy to be part of the ship, and he got to meet and be good friends with some of the crew, like Dead Soul Angelo and Liza Quick. Him and Dead Soul Angelo bonded quick with their adoration for chaos, and also they liked to write poems when they are tired (will have romance with these two) and Liza got attached to him, finding him cute like a stray puppy, wanting to defend him from harm while also finding him just fun to be around and funny. Amaro was thrilled to be liked, but the one person that was wary of him was Kuro, still distrusting of him, but he eventually let himself relax and like the kid.
Lady was teaching Pablo the ropes about all the things they have to do, like stealing the royal's ships and recruit some pirates, and manage some things. She tells about a dream of hers, she once found a treasure map to a dream land with powerful weapons and fortunes and everything you can dream of. She dreams of finding it and making it their base.
He begins to get the hang of things, and becomes a trusted part of the crew. Becoming one of thee most treasured parts of the main crew. Sometimes he even convinces Lady to hijack a slaveship and free the slaves and sometimes recruit some of them.
For at least 2 years, they are living the dream.
Until a day where the crew were searching for that dream land for Lady Bonny, and they got ambushed by some european ships and some pirate rival who made a deal to take down Lady Bonny's pirate empire.
They tried to escape and defeat the enemy ships, but it was an empty efforts. They manage to destroy the other ships but their ship was almost completely destroyed and they were on the eye of a storm too.
Amaro holded on for dear life on the ship and the ship itself crashed onto an island.
When it crashed, everything went flying and just had a few survivors on the shore of the island. The only survivors on a crew of 20 was Kuro, Liza Quick, Amaro and Dead Soul Angelo. They find Lady Bonny near some of the rubbles of the ship, but she was impaled on a broken piece of wood. She died right there, surrounded by the people she loved and cherished, saying that she doesn't regret a thing, and hat she lived to her fullest, and bleeding out for her injuries.
They made a little grave for her and were trying to get something to survive. When they stumble onto a cave with a metal door blocking. It had some skeleton on the door holding a piece of paper that was written a code, looking like it tried to put the code before they were killed by some of the traps they also found, but they were old and broken Kuro tried to use the code on the door. It opened and revealed a room full of fortunes and treasures. This was the place Lady talked about! It is a shame she hasn't lived enough to see it, but they found it!
They find fortunes, things that everyone on the world would spend everything they have to have their hands in that, and they have. There was a black sword, with a dark aura on it, a weapon Kuro identified as a Kwan Dao with a strange metal that he can't really identify, but he can tell it's pretty sharp. There were so many golden coins and even a golden skull. Amaro picked up some golden spider bracelets, which when he closed his fist it makes some blades come off.(like Wolverine but just one big blade.)
Still, they need a way to get to civilization, they will be stranded on that island forever.
In the middle of the treasures, Liza finds a lamp and when she touches it, comes a wish genie who can make anything they wish, and Angelo jumps in to wish for a new ship.
In the shore, appears a gigantic pirate ship with even rooms to everyone, and resources to cannons and heavy weaponry. They were mesmerized by it, and the genie went away, just saying one thing: "use it carefullly".
They now wish to reconquer Lady Bonny's empire and turn the tide and be the kings and queens of the seven oceans.
